Great USB Audio Interface w/Microphone
The Tascam US-122 is my USB interface of choice. It offers two (2) XLR connectors for the professional quality microphones out there. It also contains phantom power for the condenser microphones that require it. There are two (2) guitar/line-in channels and and insert for each channel, left or right. Headphone port on the back gives you direct monitoring and a line-out port on the back for sending to some other unit. There are MIDI in and out ports on the back of the unit as well. One of my favorite parts of the unit is the mono switch. While you’re recording different left and right channels, you can mix them in the headphones just by throwing the switch so you don’t hear two different things in each ear.
The US-122 is now obsolete, and the successor is the US-144. Check out the great bundle on the US-144 and a MXL microphone.

Definitely worth considering for your podcast studio.
