#2 - The Podcast Expo (206) 203-3438
The Podcast Expo is almost here, just one more day, give or take a couple hours. I’m excited, you should be too. Listen in to this podcast and hear about the different tracks that are available at this year’s show. Remember to come by the Orange County Podcasters booth, #619, and [...]
#1 - Tascam US122L & US144 (206) 203-3438
Well I finally went ahead and recorded some audio for The Podcast Studio. This was recorded with the Giant Squid Audio Labs Omni Directional Mic connected to the iRiver iFP-795. Good mobile podcasting rig. This posting is about the new Tascam US122L and US144 USB audio interfaces.

Podcast Hosts
I was going to do some research into podcast hosts. I type “podcast hosts” into Google, and lo and behold, the nice folks at Podcasting News have done it for me. Good list of free, inexpensive and comprehensive podcast hosts.

Microphone Technique/Rode Podcaster
I started out to blog about the new Rode Podcaster USB microphone. I think it looks great and at $199 it might be a great deal, blah blah blah. It has a built-in microphone port for monitoring right in the microphone.
Then I notice the little Quicktime videos at the bottom of page 2 [...]
Podcast of the Week - 9/14/06
When I started doing the Fat Guy Radio show I stopped listening to a lot of health/weight loss related podcasts. I didn’t want to ever be in a position for someone to say ‘Hey you copied so and so.” There is one weight loss/fitness related podcast that I am listening to now. [...]

New Blog Spam Tactic
So I’m checking the spam filter that runs with Wordpress and there is what looks like my blog post in my spam filter. My first thought is that it is a Wordpress problem. It is however a way for someone to get their IP address approved to post to the blog without moderation. [...]
Questions & Answers #3
A reader came to The Podcast Studio by searching for “portable podcasting studio“. Good thought. I haven’t really explored the portable podcasting gear space except to mention the iRiver 700 series of portable recorders/mp3 players. Last night, Craig Patchett of Behind the Scenes recorded some interviews at the OC Podcaster Meetup. [...]
Questions & Answers #2
Looking through the logs, someone came to the site with this search “MXL 990 Microphone podcast 1/8“. Just looking at what the searcher typed in, I can only summise that they have purchased or have a Marshall MXL 990 condenser microphone and would like to connect it to their computer through the 1/8″ microphone [...]
Free Podcast Software
Audacity is probably the most used audio recording software used by podcasters. It’s free, it’s easy to use. But if you want to use VST plug-ins, you’re out of luck. Supposedly VST’s work, but the layout of the plug-ins doesn’t come through. At least for me. When doing research on [...]
