Questions & Answers #2
Looking through the logs, someone came to the site with this search “MXL 990 Microphone podcast 1/8“. Just looking at what the searcher typed in, I can only summise that they have purchased or have a Marshall MXL 990 condenser microphone and would like to connect it to their computer through the 1/8″ microphone port on their computer. Sorry, do not pass go, do not connect $200. The MXL 990 requires phantom power, 48volts to be exact. The cheapest way, and let’s face it, that’s what most new podcasters are looking for, to get it connected is to grab a Behringer UB802 Mixer and either an RCA to 1/8″ stereo cable or dual 1/4″ to 1/8″ stereo cable. I hope this comes in handy for some of you out there.
So now you know, get recording!
