Podcast of the Week - 12/13/06
When you get all that gear for Christmas and you start to hook everything up, XLR, 1/4″, RCA, headphone, Inserts, microphone, compressor, limiter, etc., and it sounds like a screeching mess, it’s time to listen to Sine Language. Sine Language is a podcast about all things audio. It is hosted by Bruce Williams, Aussie audio engineer extraordinaire. I have been listening to this podcast since episode 1 and have found every single episode of some benefit. There are episodes about compression, MP3 file encoding, but my favorite two episodes have been #30 and #37. Both had to do with gain, levels and how to setup your mixer to get the highest levels with the least noise. I’ve saved these two episodes in my archive in case I need a refresher course or I can forward these two episodes to a new podcaster.
Bruce is done podcasting for the year, so you have a couple of weeks to catch up before he starts producing new episodes in 2007. Head on over to http://audio2u.com/sinelanguage.htm and make your podcast sound the best that it can. You won’t be sorry.

Merry Christmas!
