PopCurrent - Promote your podcast
You have your podcast recorded and posted, but is anyone listening? To reach a wider audience for your show, there are many places to post an announcement, but there is one place in particular that is gaining momentum in getting out the word on “new media”. That site is PopCurrent. I learned about PopCurrent at this year’s Podcast Expo. Ray Slakinski, the creator of PopCurrent, was there and he explained how it works.
Similar to Digg.com, PopCurrent provides a way for people to give you a digital thumbs up about your post. At PopCurrent you Pop! the entries instead of digg them. The topics include Music, Books, Images, Videos, and Talk Shows. Right now there seems to be a lot of musicians taking advantage of the service, and so should you. My Halloween themed show on the Fat Guy Radio show made it to the front page and I saw a nice spike in listeners.
