Trailcast Studio Tour

I came across this video through a Google alert. It’s a video tour of the TrailCast studio. Bob from TrailCast said it was okay to share this, so here it is, via YouTube. The heart of the TrailCast studio is the Behringer Eurorack UB802, probably the most ubiquitous mixer used by podcasters. Feeding the mixer is an AKG Perception 100, a large diaphram condenser microphone. The show is recorded on an Edirol R1 and edited using Audacity. Bob has the studio setup in the bathroom with “acoustic foam” around the room to cut down the echo. It’s an ingenious way to get the hum of the computer out of his recordings. Watch the video and see if you can use one of the many great ideas used to record The TrailCast. Pay particular attention to the way he records his Skype phone calls.
