Caution When Adding Advertising To Your Site
So you’ve decided to add advertising to your podcast blog. You choose Google Adsense as the easiest way to possibly get some money rolling in on this great site you’ve so painstakingly created. Think twice about it before you add that advertising plugin or paste that Javascript code to add the advertisements. I just visited the Revision3 site and checked out their show Revision3 Gazette. Cute show starring Sarah Lane from the old TechTV. I noticed something in the bottom right corner of my screen that seemed wrong. See if you can find the problem.
Maybe it’s a little too small to read clearly. Here’s a close up of the advertisement.
That’s right. K Rose: Sucks or Rules? K Rose is obviously Kevin Rose, one of the founders of Revision3. Does he suck? Does he rule? Should this advertisement be on his company’s website. I think not.
When you start putting advertisements on your podcast blog, maybe choose an advertising partner that won’t ask if you suck.
Peace,
Russ

You would think that someone as smart as Kevin Rose would be able to go into the Adsense control panel and filter out those advertisements. ![]()
Funny, I know you can set up who and what is advertised. If someone doesn’t like you you better not allow them to advertise. Cool Post!
I agree with the last comment. I think that Kevin is smart enough to go into the panel and filter it out. I don’t think he really cares though….
Or maybe he’s smart enough to realize that the ad will probably generate a good click-through rate. What a great way to create some revenue. ![]()

K Rose could also refer to the country music radio station in GTA San Andreas.
I think it sucks.
And rules a little bit.
