Podcast from Anywhere with Utterz

As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m using Utterz to create posts at Fat Guy Radio to document my participating in the Couch to 5K program. Utterz is a new multimedia blogging service. Here is a description of Utterz from the FAQ over at the site:
Utterz is the first way you can instantly blog your experiences, thoughts and ideas, anywhere, using all the capabilities of your mobile phone. Utterz mashes together the voice, video, pictures, and text you call or send in and creates an ‘Utter’ that can immediately update your existing web pages on sites like Blogger, Facebook, LiveJournal, MySpace and more.
What does that mean for you? Well, with no equipment, other than your cell or home phone, you can create a podcast by calling the Utterz phone number and pushing 3 to publish. You can also e-mail video, pictures and text via your cell phone or computer. You can just publish your posts to Utterz, or you can set up “Connections” with other services like Twitter, Facebook, or Wordpress. The latter is what I’m doing to make my posts about the running program. You can also publish only to Utterz and then at a later time when you have access to a computer, upload photos and add text to make your Utterz recording into a proper post. The option is available to automatically post to your blog when you post the recording to Utterz.
I think this is a great option for the person wanting to get into podcasting or blogging. There is also a social network component of the site that you can avail yourself of. The short post format is very different. It took me a couple of weeks to grasp how I might use Utterz.
I have to thank Jason and Steve over at Geekfit for their example. They started their IO series, which are Utterz posts, and that inspired me to try out the service.
Peace,
Russ
