Podcasting for Free Update
One of my previous posts gets a lot of attention. It’s the one where I show you how to create a podcast with no money. Since then, there are numerous services that will allow you to create a podcast with no money. These services will sometimes insert ads into your feed, into your show, onto your podcast pages, or do all three. This may not work for some of you, or a lot of you. But, if you’re sitting in your bedroom with a built-in microphone on your computer and no money in your pocket, these sites can provide you with a solution to getting your voice heard.
My plan here is to create a podcast on each of the services and see how easy/hard it is to use their services. I’ll create a post about each one giving you my opinion and include a link or embeddable player so you can see the results.
- My Podcast - From the site, it looks like they offer, unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, free podcast templates, help and documentation and free membership.
- Podbean - On their signup page, the listed features of the free account are 5GB of bandwidth, 100MB of storage space, a blog, and some customization options.
- Switchpod - According to their site, the free account gets unlimited bandwidth, 200MB of storage, a blog, ability to podcast video. They also have a free program called Switchpod Producer that you can use to record your podcast.
- Wildvoice - From what I can glean, without signing up, is that you get 200MB of storage space, a customizable podcast home page, and the Wildvoice Studio to record, edit and upload your podcast.
- Podshow - You get free podcast hosting, bandwidth, page on podshow.com, and social networking.
- Podomatic - In Podomatic’s own word, with the free service you get a customizable podcast page, detailed audience statistics, an online community, and video and photo sharing.
If I missed one that you think that I should review, send me an e-mail at podcaststudio@gmail.com or comment here on the blog.
